Know the cause before you pay for the fix

Almost a third of people in Portugal live in a home with damp. Many find out the cause the expensive way: after paying for work that didn't solve it. We built humidade.pt to turn that order around.

What we do

The rules we keep

  • The diagnosis comes only from your answers. No company, brand or shop can influence it.
  • If the damp can be fixed without building work, we tell you — even if that matters to no one but you.
  • Your contact details only go to a company if you ask, and to two at most.
  • We require companies to hold a contractor licence or certificate, insurance and a written guarantee. Those who collect bad customer reviews stop receiving requests.
  • Our guides don't recommend or rank companies, and there are no paid places in the results.
  • When we aren't sure, we say «likely» — or recommend a technical visit.

How we talk

Like a calm technician, not a salesperson: numbers instead of adjectives, honesty about uncertainty and no scaremongering. We'd rather give a modest, correct answer than a pretty promise.
