Terms and Conditions of Use
Version 2026-10-v1 · Last updated: 2 October 2026
These terms govern the use of the humidade.pt website. We wrote them to be read: if anything is unclear, ask us at geral@humidade.pt.
In short
- The diagnosis is free and indicative: it estimates probabilities from your answers; it is not a survey and does not replace a technical visit.
- We are independent: the algorithm decides, nobody pays to change the result or to appear first, each request goes to no more than 2 companies, and poorly rated companies stop receiving requests.
- If you hire a company, the contract is between you and the company. We do not guarantee the work, but we want to know if something goes wrong.
- We make money from the companies that receive requests and from affiliate links, which are always labelled.
- The letter templates are notification templates, not legal advice.
- If there is a dispute, you can turn to a consumer arbitration centre or the electronic Complaints Book.
This summary helps you read the document but does not replace it.

01Who we are and who these terms apply to#
humidade.pt is operated by Aljubarrota — Comércio & Serviços, Lda., company number (NIPC) [to be completed], registered office [to be completed] (‘we’). Contact: geral@humidade.pt. More details in the legal notice.
These terms apply to anyone who visits the site and uses the diagnosis, calculators, guides, letter templates or quote requests. By using the site, you accept them. Partner companies are also subject to the Partner Terms.
The processing of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy and cookies in the Cookie Policy.
02The service#
humidade.pt offers, free of charge and without creating an account:
- an online diagnosis that estimates the likely cause of damp — condensation, rising damp or water ingress — from your answers, measurements and optional photos;
- a report with recommendations, including what you can do yourself and when to call a professional;
- guides, calculators (for example, a dew point calculator) and reference prices;
- letter templates for your landlord or the condominium management;
- email reminders to measure again, if you ask for them;
- the option of requesting quotes from partner companies, if you wish.
The service is free for people looking for help. Our sources of income are explained in how we make money.
03Nature of the diagnosis#
The result is an estimate calculated by a public scoring model (see methodology) based on the information you give us. It shows probabilities, not certainties.
- It is not a survey, a technical inspection or a property valuation report, and it does not replace a visit by a qualified professional.
- It depends on the accuracy of your answers and measurements. Incomplete answers, measurements taken in poor conditions or several causes at once can lead to a wrong result.
- When confidence is low or the case looks mixed, we say so and recommend a technical visit.
- The prices shown are reference ranges; the actual price depends on each home and each company.
Before any building work, always ask a professional to assess the problem on site. If there is an active water leak, an electrical or structural risk, contact a technician or the emergency services (112) immediately.
04Independence rules#
We want to be a neutral guide, not a treatment company. That is why we commit to:
- the algorithm decides: the diagnosis comes only from your answers and the model’s weights, which we publish. No company, brand or shop can pay to change the result, the weights or the recommendations;
- no paid placements: the companies that receive a request are chosen by area, type of work, customer ratings, response time and rotation. None pays to appear first. Only active companies whose payments are up to date receive requests;
- no more than 2 companies per request (or just 1 if the request is exclusive), so you are not flooded with calls;
- poorly rated companies are removed: a company with an average below 3.5 out of 5 after 5 ratings is paused and reviewed, and may be excluded;
- recommending first what you can do yourself, where the likely cause allows it;
- clearly labelling affiliate links and explaining how we make money.
05Quote requests and partner companies#
If you ask for quotes, we send your request to no more than 2 companies, only with your explicit consent, and give you their names in the confirmation email. Companies pay us for the contact; the service is free for you.
- The contract is between you and the company. We are not a party, intermediary or agent in any contract you may enter into. Quotes, deadlines, prices, workmanship, guarantees and invoicing are solely the company’s responsibility.
- When companies join, we check their tax number (NIF) and declared activity and we monitor customer ratings, but we do not guarantee the quality, price, timing or outcome of the work.
- You are not obliged to accept any quote. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
- Always ask for a written quote, compare, and check what is included and what guarantees are offered.
- If you have a problem with a partner company, tell us at geral@humidade.pt. We use this information to decide whether the company keeps receiving requests.
Reviews
About 30 days after your request, we email you asking you to rate the company that contacted you. Your review should reflect your real experience, without offensive language or other people’s personal data. Reviews affect the ranking of companies and may lead to them being paused or excluded. We may disregard reviews that are clearly false or abusive.
06Affiliate links#
In results where the likely cause is condensation, we may suggest a few products — for example, hygrometers or dehumidifiers. Some of these links are affiliate links (Amazon.es and Leroy Merlin, through the Awin network): if you buy, the shop pays us a small commission, at no extra cost to you. These links are always labelled next to the product.
As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. (to be validated)
Products are chosen on the same basis as the rest of the site: we only suggest what makes sense for your case. You buy directly from the shop, on that shop’s terms. We are not the seller and are not responsible for availability, delivery, guarantee or price, which may change. We only count clicks on these links, without linking them to you.
07Letter templates#
The letter templates for your landlord or the condominium management are notification templates filled in from your report, to help you report the problem in writing. They are available in Portuguese only, as they are meant to be sent in Portugal.
- They are not legal advice and do not guarantee any outcome.
- Each party’s obligations depend on the tenancy agreement, the condominium rules and the applicable law. Before sending, check them with a lawyer, a solicitor (solicitador), a tenants’ or landlords’ association, or your local consumer support service.
- You are responsible for the content you send, how you send it (for example, registered post with proof of delivery) and any deadlines.
08Your obligations#
When using humidade.pt, you agree to:
- give truthful information and, in quote requests, use your own name and contact details, or those of someone who has authorised you;
- be at least 18 to request quotes or reminders;
- not send photos showing people, documents or third-party content without permission;
- not include health information or other sensitive data in notes;
- keep the link to your report safe, as anyone who has it can open it.
09Acceptable use#
You may not:
- make fake or repeated quote requests, or requests on behalf of others without their authorisation;
- upload unlawful or offensive content, or content that infringes third-party rights;
- extract data by automated means (scraping), overload the service, test for vulnerabilities without permission or bypass security and anti-spam measures;
- use the diagnosis, the model or the content for commercial purposes without our written permission.
We may block requests or access that break these rules and delete the content concerned.
10Intellectual property#
The texts, diagnosis model, illustrations, software and the humidade.pt brand belong to us or are used under licence. You may share links and quote short extracts with attribution. Third-party photos carry the credit and licence shown next to them.
The photos you upload remain yours. By uploading them, you authorise us to store them and use them in your report and, if you ask for quotes, to show them to the companies that receive the request. We do not publish them.
11Liability#
We provide the service with care and in good faith, but free of charge. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable:
- for decisions made solely on the basis of the indicative diagnosis, without an assessment by a professional;
- for the quotes, work, products or services of partner companies;
- for products sold by third-party shops you reach through affiliate links;
- for interruptions, delays or errors on the site caused by reasons beyond our reasonable control.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for wilful misconduct (dolo) or gross negligence, for death, personal injury or damage to health, or the rights the law gives you as a consumer that cannot be excluded by contract, in particular under the Portuguese rules on standard contract terms (Decree-Law No. 446/85) and the Consumer Protection Act (Law No. 24/96). (to be validated)
12Availability and changes to the service#
We do our best to keep the site available, but we cannot guarantee it will work without interruption — for example, during maintenance or updates.
We may change, suspend or discontinue parts of the service, including the diagnosis model, which is reviewed periodically. Each report records the model version used to calculate it. If we discontinue the service, we will try to give reasonable notice and let you save your reports.
13Changes to these terms#
We may update these terms when the service changes or the law requires it. The current version (2026-10-v1) and the date are at the top of the page. Significant changes are announced on the site with reasonable notice and do not apply to requests already made.
This is a translation. If there is any discrepancy between this version and the Portuguese version, the Portuguese version prevails. (to be validated)
14Governing law and courts#
These terms are governed by Portuguese law. If you are a consumer living in another European Union country, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of that country’s law.
Without prejudice to alternative dispute resolution, the competent court is the one determined by law, including the court of the consumer’s place of residence. (to be validated)
15Alternative dispute resolution#
In the event of a consumer dispute, you can turn to an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) body under Portuguese Law No. 144/2015 of 8 September. These bodies provide information, mediation, conciliation and arbitration, quickly and free of charge or at low cost. We have not voluntarily signed up to any ADR body (to be validated); depending on where you are, the competent bodies are:

The European Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform was shut down on 20 July 2025, following the repeal of Regulation (EU) No 524/2013 by Regulation (EU) 2024/3228, so complaints can no longer be submitted through it.
16Complaints Book and contact#
You can file a complaint in the electronic Complaints Book (Livro de Reclamações). You can also write to us directly at geral@humidade.pt or through the contact page; we reply as quickly as we can.
